Default Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Fri 21st April

I don't know how much time I've spent just staring at the screen, travelling around the planet.

(I don't know how much time I've spent wasted looking for the CD version either...)

I'd say late eighties? I think maybe 1988, 1989.

I know Dune 2 was in the early 90's. Think it might have been 91.

Well, I'm sure people who've seen the 7th Guest for the first time would say the same thing. Except replace eighties with '92.

Aw, the book was great.

The movie was lame though. (Apart from the soundtrack)

That screenshot is clearly from the CD version, so I assume you managed to find it in the end?

I got a copy of the CD version with the "Spice Opera" soundtrack in a special box that pops up into a worm mouth... for like $5 on eBay. It was a pretty good deal.

Wow, I guessed it! My first post here ever...hehe. It's been so long since I played Dune...I think I was 13. I'm surprised I even remembered!

I have to say that's a pretty crazy box. Ah, pop-ups...

On the subject of Dune, never read the book, but bought the movie recently in that special new style of DVD tin with the double-sided disc (theatrical and director's)... it was interesting enough, I guess. One of those scifi classics that somehow I just never watched growing up.

Yes, eventually. The first time I bought it on CD, it ended up being the floppy version put on a CD. But then I finally found it in some Dune 1 + 2 re-release that Virgin did. So I never got a pretty box like you did. (I did get the soundtrack at some point, though).

Dune is one of those few games that I have replayed dozens of time, and still can't get fed up with. And I'm still discovering new sietches everytime.

Welcome.

I liked playing Dune, but I never got further than the war with Harkonnen. The strategy part wasn't really for me.

Absolute masterpiece. One of the games that wowed me the most visually speaking.

But then, I'm a big fan of the movie too.
