Default Monkey Island 'Atmospheric a-like' games...

I really like the Monkey Island series, especially part 1 followed by 2.
The old graphics / style really add something to the game I think and allthough Monkey Island 3 is really beautifully drawn, the atmosphere isn't as nice as in the older games.

So the question is, do you know any games that have that 'old graphic style' and atmosphere Monkey Island had? Or games you think come close to the adventure-experience it had?

Please recommend me some games that bring me some nostaligia!
Thanks.

YOu could try Lure of the Temptress and Beneath a Steel Sky from
http://www.revolution.co.uk

They are drawn in the same art style as the old Monkey Island games.

I think you would enjoy the old King's Quest series, too.

any of the lucas classic line would do, indy 3 or 4 for example are brilliant games (4 is huge) and the brilliant Loom or the mysterious and compelling The Dig

albiet, they aren't nearly as humerous!

I remember a pretty old game named: Touche: Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer that, at least artistically, seems to resemble the old Monkey Island look. May be worth checking should you find it (I haven't played it myself, though, so don't know if it's any good).

Loom is also a pretty safe bet and an amazing game altogether but don't forget to give a look to Day of the Tentacle (again by LucasArts), which is graphically fresher and with a different touch in its atmosphere but still feels quite consistent with the Monkey Island spirit.

Cirque de Zale is pretty Monkey Island-y.

Agree with you , the first 2 monkey island games were fantastic , once it became 3D , the atmosphere wasn't quite the same anymore.
All the earlier Lucasart games featured a variation or the same SCUMM interface so you can try those. The indiana jones games uses the same interface and same graphics as the monkey island games especially fate of atlantis.
