the upload of a profile pictyre keeps failing, despite it being smaller than 64k and smaller than 100*100 pixels, why ?

Hey runningback. The limits for avatars is actually "80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)". You should check the image you are trying to upload matches these specifications.
