Default Adventure Architect #9

That was an interesting read. It's cool how you caught the problem before it screwed up the entire game. The screenshots still look awesome though, even though you had to take out the sign post. Keep up the awesome work.

Hey this looks good. It isn't supposed to look good. Why didn't I read this Adventure Architect before?

You know, that is a pretty stupid mistake to make. I created only two test backgrounds to play on before I cranked out all the animations and items and all.

Funny how you have absolutely no interface. Will it be werb-coin oriented?

It's a neat style of character animation.

BTW Kingz, Werb? I sometimes in my actual speach substitute Vs with Ws. And THs w/ Ts. My friends are so used to hearing me speak near perfect English, that they find it fitting to nag at every single mistake I still make. Screv them.

Nice. "Adventure Architect" is one of the things on Adventure Gamers I'm most looking forward to. It's always an interesting read. Keep up the good work!

The interface will be Sierra-style with the "hand" for interact, "boot" for walk, etc. We haven't finished up all of the custom GUI icons yet, though. Plus the GUI bar only appears when you move the cursor to the top of the screen.

Thanks for correcting that stupid mistake. Werb... Bear in mind that it was one o'clock last night when I wrote that and I was half delirious...

So in other words you won't be really messing with the default AGS interface?

The only changes I'll be making is that I'm going to custom-design the icons, so instead of the standard white boot for "walk," there'll be a colored snakeskin boot with spurs, etc. I love the Sierra icon-based GUI format, and I want this game to have that sort of retro-feel, only with modern, true-color graphics throughout the game.

I profoundly like the screenshots! Is that sense of humour going to be specked throughout the game, or was it just for the test-screenshots?

Why thank you! Yes, that sense of humor--to the extent that people actually find my stuff funny--will indeed be prevelent throughout the game.

Correct. There's nothing wrong with the default interface IMO.

I, on the other hand, think it's one of the most inconvenient interface there is and uncool, though I can abide it.

I just want to add how much I enjoy the Adventure Architect series-- in fact, they are what drew me to Adventure Gamers in the first place!

They make me wonder how a Project Greenlight style show about amateur game designers making a game would be...

Ditto. And the Future of Adventure Games article is what kept me here.

For whatever reason I was fairly daunted by getting to grips with Adventure Game Studio, but the Adventure Architect articles helped me get over it.

Hope to work on an adventure game at some point!
