Default News threads

How about a thread being made for every news or site update? Example: If a review for bad mojo is posted on the site, a thread is made so people can comment on it.

Wasn't this already discussed earlier?
If I remember correctly Adventure Gamers wasn't interested in a comment system. Correct me if I'm wrong. Evan, Marek?

As for the threads I would say that the situation is good as it is. Many of the interesting news items gets an own thread in the Site feedback section already and if there would be a news item that haven't been discussed already, feel free to start a new thread about it.
I feel that if there would be an automatic thread starter system ( ) this section would be over flooded with empty threads with no replies in them. That's my two cents.

How about if they showed up in the area appropriate to what the news story is about? Like the adventure games discussion area, or underground. The former gets many views, so there probably would be a lot of answers to most topics.

I guess that's a possibility, but it would still be a hell of a lot of uninteresting threads. I mean, some time ago we discussed how no one reads the New [insert title] review news on the main AG page. If those news items don't interest people there, why would they interest people here in the forums?

How about JUST for the Bad Mojo review?

The only problem with this is that a lot of people are probably reluctant to START a thread, even if they'd otherwise make a comment.

In general, though, I think this feature would be overkill. Is there a happy medium, like a link directly from articles that would generate a thread?

Too bad someone there gave NOLF A BAD REVIEW! Seriously, how can you give NOLF a bad review? It's probably one of the more refreshing First Person Shooters out there.

And I'm sorry if this idea has been posted already.

And you know who that someone is, right? Our beloved Kingzie, aka Stevan Zivadinovic! BTW, have you even read the review? Cause it's not negative, overall. The critique of negative aspects to the game, however, is rather accurate, if you will. I think the storytelling in NOLF2 was much better executed. Or at least, the game was shorter, so it didn't bore you to death. But, to sum up, the answer to the question "is NOLF worth Jack Bloody Shit?" was "yes."

Was it a bad review? I think the conclusion was that he enjoyed the game quite a bit, but it had some glaring flaws. Are you a NOLF fanboy who considers a review containing any negative point brought against the game a "bad review" or something? He said tons of positive things about the game but presented many examples of places where the game was less than awesome. I think "fair review" might be more appropriate than "bad" really...

We've been discussing a system where threads wouldn't be automatically generated by each news item, but if someone clicked on "discuss this news item" and wrote a comment then a thread would be started. That seems like a happy medium.

I think this is similar--or identical--or maybe not at all related--to what Thumbs does.

There's only so much I can do, though. *points at Doug*

Yes, that's what IDLE THUMBS does.
