i remember when i was in middle school, for my computer class i got to play monkey island 2 on the Mac computers for an hour every day. my computer teacher made me a copy to play at home but i could never get it to work. the problem was with my ignorance of the PC and MAC. i didn't know that they weren't compatible. but now I'm extremely computer literate. I have both my A+ and CISCO certs. i run a small computer building business out of my room.

Great article, although I just spent literally hours today and last night setting up Basilsk and trying to get the Cliff Johnson games working, fortunatly, I've had a measure of success! The trick is to download the Zip file from the windows section, unpack them using winzip or simmilar on the PC side (they'll look all funny and there'll be too many, don't panic). Then fire up HFV Explorer (comes with Basilisk, you probably already used it to copy the MacOS install files onto the virtual Mac Drive). Use Open disc to open up your Mac virtual drive if it isn't already open, then copy the unpacked games folder to the mac drive (keep default options). Then the icons will be there as proper Mac files and you can play...

Well you can play The Fools Errand anyways, when I try and launch either of the other games I get the error message (from the emulated mac, not the emulator) "Program runs in Black and White, 16 color or 256 color only"... I imagine there's a simple way to fix this on the mac side but I know next to nothing about them so any advice would be appreciated.

Hrm... download them from the windows section, eh? Wonder if this will solve the problem I'm having. I'll give it a try.

For the color thing, have you tried changing the color on the emulated mac, through the control panel? (Apple menu --> control panel --> displays)

I fixed it, I'd found the display option on control panels but it was only offering thousands of colours no matter what i set it to on the Basilisk GUI... turns out was because I was running in windowed mode while trying to get things running and it has to match the colors in the windows desktop. Switching to full-screen fixed it. 3 in Three works fine now.
