Just a heads-up for anyone who cares... the reviews page no longer has a iframe. Everything is now taken care of using AJAX (which updates the content without having to refresh the page). W00t.

Maybe I'm just being impatient with it and/or my router's having a hissy fit with the number of connections the reviews list opens (requesting the large number of ratings stars).
I've never played with the page this much before. ![]()

Well, to make it a little clearer I added a "Loading..." message that will appear while the request is happening. That way it won't seem like you click and nothing happens if the request is slow.

Okay, here's your nightly Opera Update:
Opera does not support xmlHttpRequest.overrideMimeType(), along with several other methods of xmlHttpRequest. It would seem that for 8.0 the Opera developers implemented only the methods needed to make gmail work, and nothing more. This == bullshit. End result, I got it working in Opera, but reordering the list causes the page background to go white. That's pretty much how it's going to stay, unless some enterprising Opera user wants to dig through our Javascript and find a solution. Sorry to leave it at that, but Opera represents <3% of our browser share, and I have lots of other stuff to get done ![]() For the truly bored:

If there was a better browser to get, I would.
![]() Seriously, Firefox is all right, but I'd have to download a ton of extensions to get all the stuff I'm used to in Opera, so I can live with the (very) occasional rendering quirk. Plus IE and FF both run rather like molasses on my creaky old computer. ![]() Not to mention that Opera supports pretty much everything else (all the W3C standards, at any rate)... I'm an "Anything but IE" sort of person, anyway. Peace & Luv, Liz Last edited by Jeysie; 08-18-2005 at 04:19 PM.. |
