Assassin's Creed - Page 3

Intrepid Homoludens · 06-29-2006, 01:30 PM

Not me. I prefer it on my console. There's something romantic about playing a medieval hitman while lounging on my couch sipping a glass of wine between assignments. Sexy.

eriq · 06-29-2006, 02:03 PM

I just read the Game Informer cover Story on this and DAMN does it sound and look amazing. The Persia team has always been at the top of their game. I think we can expect nothing less than perfection with this one. The whole "crowd" technology they've talked about sounds really cool - people around you actually react to everything you're doing, etc.

can't wait.

Oh, and I should mention the dark group of assassin's the main character belongs to each has one of their fingers chopped off during initiation. How sexxy is that?

Intrepid Homoludens · 06-29-2006, 02:16 PM

As long as it's ONLY the finger that gets chopped off it'll be sexy.

Yes, because assassins don't need dexterity.

Spiwak · 06-30-2006, 06:48 AM

I think that was an actual fact about the actual Assassins. Apparently one finger doesn't make the difference.

Crunchy in milk · 06-30-2006, 07:00 AM

And as a hired killer, being easily identifiable is always a plus.

I guess the Hashashin were overdoing the hashish.

Naveed · 07-05-2006, 01:25 AM

Would be sweet if it is also released for the PC

it will be making it's way to both the Xbox 360 and PC, as well as the previously announced PS3 ...

Nice, that must of taken some hype away from the PS3, most people got the impression it was exclusive, I'm glad its out for the 360.

RLacey · 07-05-2006, 03:40 AM

...though it still isn't confirmed yet.

Dasilva · 07-05-2006, 09:44 AM

Its not like Ubi to do exclusive stuff.

Are you just wishing bad things for Sony now?

VictimOfScience · 07-14-2006, 07:38 AM

Who cares if it comes out on all platforms? I say, good! The more the merrier! This game should be amazing whatever you play it on!

The whole PS3/360 debate will be solved by the exclusive titles each system has and whether those matter to you or not. Most games this next generation will be multiplatform due to the huge jump in development costs, so exclusives are the only thing that would make a console worth buying/not buying imho.

Confirmed: Assassin's Creed Staking Out PCs | IGN.com, August 30, 2006

Quote:

Ubisoft fesses up to Assassin's multiple targets.

When Ubisoft unveiled Assassin's Creed at E3 earlier this year, it was touted as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. And ever since then rumors have been flying around hinting that the game's "exclusivity" may be more temporary than Ubisoft initially let on. Whispers of an Xbox 360 port are nothing new, but yesterday came reports of a PC version as well.

Apparently, the most recent issue of UK magazine PC Gamer spills the beans on Assassin's PC future. When initially pressed for comment, Ubisoft said, "mum's the word!" But now IGN has received an official reply from the publisher:

"Assassin's Creed PC will indeed see the light some day. Details will be provided at a later date."

It is likely that Assassin's Creed will initially be available exclusively on the PS3. Gamers may remember that Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to the GameCube -- for about a year. Indeed, that may be what "exclusive" increasingly means in the industry today. Game makers want to spread their titles across as many platforms as possible in an attempt to minimize risk.

Spiwak · 08-30-2006, 04:09 PM

That's exciting! I just hope it'll be at all worth playing on the PC. I remember reading about the control system, where the placement of the buttons corresponds with parts of the body. Seems like that'd be hard to port to mouse and keyboard, but I guess it could be an excuse to get a gamepad.

Intrepid Homoludens · 08-30-2006, 04:12 PM

I suspect that the 360 will receive it after the PS3, and then the PC.

Spiwak · 08-30-2006, 04:17 PM

...and then the universe!

(sorry, just got back from a class entirely about Star Trek and philosophy)

SoccerDude28 · 08-30-2006, 04:31 PM

I still can't wait for this one. I hope that it is not a Splinter cell type of game and more of a prince of persia.

Intrepid Homoludens · 08-30-2006, 04:34 PM

It looks to be more Hitman + Prince of Persia.
