I did see the perforations but I'll probably keep it in one piece. It's neat to have the extras.

No, I ordered the regular version, but I think (hope) I was one of the first 100 preorders so it should come with some extra stuff.

Mine wasn't at the mailbox today... fingers crossed for Monday!

Speaking of a download version, I did as Eriq suggested and checked out their forums, using the search function first, of course. The last news was that they were in talks with a company about providing a digital download and that it looked very much like they would indeed be providing a downloadable version of the game, with the only caveats being the obvious (that it would be lacking the tangible elements of the game, such as a box, instruction manual and so on).

This post was back at the end of July (30th) and there's been no news since. I'm half tempted to sign up and necro the thread I found that official news in to see whether they had any luck with those talks and whether the downloadable version is going ahead officially and whether they have a date. Of course, the end of July wasn't exactly that long ago and I don't really want to sign up just to necro a thread and pester them (it'd be impolite), so I might give it a little while longer before I do head on over there to see whether any further news does pop up. If anyone wishes to proceed further sooner though, feel free.

May I ask what Eriq's involvement in the making of of this game was?

Eriq made several background concepts, some backgrounds, helped with touchups, created the official Al Emmo website (www.AlEmmo.com), created the packaging as well as many of the game goodies and manual. Additionally, he made a "making of" movie, as well as provided inspiration to the team! He did a phenomenal job on everything!

Bought it today through paypal.
I noticed that their paypal account had only 69 transactions so far, so I guess sales are unfortunately slow at the moment.
People, just buy the damn game!

Lots of people are probably waiting to see if they won the game first before buying.

I happened to be lucky and have it ship pretty quickly to me and I just wanted to say I'm having lots of fun. It's the perfect game for my mood - it's funny and the scenes of Anozira and the surrounding area are very nice to look at (terrific colors and cheery). I love the map feature and the puzzles have been fun so far.

I could also listen to Kevin the bartender all day.

There's a lot of truth in that. And since neither the Al Emmo website nor the Himalaya website list the winners, it may be a long wait.

Yet anyway... I wanted the Collector's edition, but I just can't afford it. I'm hoping I can coax my parents into buying me the regular release for my birthday though. I just hope we won't have to pay import taxes.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the experience, Melanie68!

Speaking of the contest, there's currently approximately a 1 in 3 chance of winning for those who have already entered. Those are pretty good odds!

The contest will be coming to an end very soon, though. So if you haven't entered already, be sure to get your creative entry in quickly!

More details can be found on www.AlEmmo.com by clicking on the "Enter the Al Emmo contest" button at the bottom right-hand side of the main page.

GoT, you're in Geelong? I'm in Australia too, so if you PM me with the details of which version you want to buy (i.e. Standard or Collector's Ed), you could direct deposit the money into my account and I'll put your order through for you that way. PM me if you'd like to do that.

It’s been reported that for at least a week the file sharers, aka pirates, have been robbing ‘Himalaya Studios’ of their VERY well deserved income.

What a disgraceful and disgusting scandal, particularly after they posted 2 excellent freeware games for everybody to enjoy gratis, and have now sunk quite a bit of personal cash into the excellent production of Al Emmo.

Shame upon those scum !

I haven’t the faintest idea how these piracy scams work, but I understand that they are very widespread and that there is nothing really that can be done to halt this corruption !!

At least, AFAIK, they didn’t upload their filth BEFORE the game was officially released… which has often been done previously to my absolute knowledge, annoyance and even sometimes personal ‘inconvenience’ !
