Ah, great game! KQ6 was _soo_ huge back in the days. I remember taking breaks while playing it - I didn't want it to end too fast

I like how you can die on the first screen of the game, now thats good design..

Still, with a bag of saves it was good fun, I just cant stand the backtracking in sierra games nowadays

Only tried Kings Quest 7 and I loved it.

Is KQ6 any good? Is the ingame voice?

This is probably my favourite King's Quest game. I'm pretty sure they've got a talkie version. (I think... long time since I played...

It was EXTREMELY popular, and a very good game. I enjoyed 4 and 5 more, but 6 was high quality all the way.

It seems fairly intuitive to me that walking into the fucking ocean would be deadly. Even (or maybe now, particularly) Jeff Buckley would understand that. Admittedly there are significant problems in the design of the game, but I don't agree that is one of them.

I have finished 1, 2 and 8 and at least played 3, 4, 5
6 and 7 remain to be tried and (hopefuly) enjoyed

Yet in the previous installments of KQ you actually CAN swim in the ocean

Great game, (though the parts on the pictured Isle of Wonder are perhaps the least enjoyable moments in the game.

realising that you were going to have to replay the entire catacombs section (plus the cliff-climbing) because you forgot to pick up a brick on the Isle of Wonder...

I really enjoyed what I played of this game, sadly I never finished it as I encountered a situation similar to Robsie's. I couldn't face all the replaying that would be required, so I decided to take a break, but never got back to it.

Lol yeah, I wonder how many people made that mistake. I bet 90% of all players had to go through the entire catacombs section twice.

Best game of the KQ series by a longshot, by the way. And one of my top 5 adventures. I love the different endings, the islands, the atmosphere, ... It's one of the games that truly inspired and influenced me when I was a kid, and its effect on me will probably linger on for the rest of my life and through my work.
