Default Looking for specific type of game...

I tried asking on justadventure and didn't really get much of a response.

I absolutely love Zork Nemesis, Barrow Hill, and Dark Fall, but these kind of games are rare. Specifically, first person adventure games that are not similar to myst's(which I also like and have Myst 4 and 5 in my drawer and looking to buy obsidian) figure out this contraption type gameplay. I did not like Scratches because it kept you on a complete straight line and I really disliked its inventory based gameplay(barrow hill's had a bit of inventory, but it was done better imo).

Any suggestions?

Maybe you'll like RHEM and RHEM 2. They are a pure distillation of the logic puzzling aspects of first person adventure games. It looks like you might have a thing for spooky games, therefore I'd recommend AMBER: Journeys Beyond as well. All three of these recommendations are by independent developers, by the way. (Go indies!)

I looked over reviews for those 3 games and I think Amber may be to my liking. Although if I ever beat myst 4,5, and obsidian, RHEM looks fairly good, but not exactly what I am looking for here.

I am looking for a game like Zork Nemesis, Barrow Hill, and Dark Fall in that the puzzles are more about finding clues and putting them together for the puzzles rather than figuring out what lever or contraption does what.

Found the reviews of Morpheus to be close to what I'm looking for... anyone play it?

Oh yeah, Morpheus is a good bet. You'll probably like it too. It's pretty forgettable, nothing to write home about, though.

I just posted a screenie of this in the Scene of the Day but Faust: Seven Games of the Soul has a cool storyline. It's not really inventory heavy and it runs fine on XP but I found I needed to decrease the hardware acceleration to get the voices and sound to work.

[shameless plug]

You might like "Last Half of Darkness: Shadows of the Servants" - it describes what your looking for... (but it does have some inventory)

- Horror Genre
- First Person
- Non-Linear

If it seems like something your interested in... Check it out here: http://www.lasthalfofdarkness.com/newlasthalf.htm

Enjoy

Faust is in the mail to me : ). And yes, I played ZGI.

I actually just started Dark Fall 2... I barely had to look upfor hints iwth the first one, but this one I've already had to look something up 5 minutes into the game because of all the darkness and a cursor that makes it hard to find small hidden objects among all the black.
