What a nice treat after a day of hard work: a nice long preview of Gray Matter! Of course we all are awaiting the game eagerly.

With her latest game, Jane Jensen wants to reach a more widespread audience than just the hardcore adventure community.

I think she doesn't
want to reach more people but she
has to because her employer wants to sell a certain amount of games.

But you have to expect the level of difficulty to be far below Jane's famous trilogy. The sometimes obscenely hard Sierra classics are not considered compatible with the broad audience that the game is trying to reach.

I have mixed feelings about this. Some of the puzzles in the GK series were indeed ridiculously hard or illogical (which often is the same thing in adventure games), but I hope the game doesn't prove too easy for us 'hardcore' AG-ers.

Even in secondary issues such as magic, the author does not just make things up out of the blue, but has done a lot of research before the process of writing even began.

Mmmm... I can't wait! I was intrigued by what I learned about New Orleans and Rennes-le-Chateau. Jane Jensen makes adventure games not only fun to play but also educational, which to me is a very good thing.

The chance is "nearly 100%" that music will be provided by Jane Jensen's husband Robert Holmes, who also composed the music for the Gabriel Knight series.

Even more goodies! Be still my fluttering heart!
It's about time

We've been waiting far too long for her!
